Breakfast: scrambled quail eggs, homemade whole wheat toast, butter

Lunch: Salad – lettuce, chicken breast, edamame, black beans, sunflower seeds, raspberry vinaigrette. Pineapple and grapes.

Snack: tapioca pudding, cool whip. Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle chips. (not pictured)

Supper: Wrap – spinach wrap, turkey, lettuce, cheddar cheese, ranch. Pepper jack cheese cubes and grapes.

I ended up working a couple hours later than usual and this was unexpected. Although, I do get paid extra for this, it does tend to throw off my day. I didn’t exercise in the morning like I should have and then felt tired once I did get home from work.

Tuesday, March 4th, 2025

Breakfast: Post Fruity Pebbles Fruit cereal, 2% milk (I don’t buy cereal and rarely eat it. I believe this was given to us. I have an addiction with sugar that I struggle with and this is why I don’t buy it.)

Lunch: Asian salad – lettuce, chicken breast, shredded carrots, mandarin oranges, peanuts, raspberry vinaigrette

Supper: Baked tilapia, homemade whole wheat bread with butter

I don’t have a great excuse for not exercising today. I did start my menses today and this can really drag me down.

Today was rough for me. There was a blizzard here and I ended up calling into to work. I genuinely enjoy my job and seeing our patients. Then I was stuck at home with four active children who would love to be outside in a blizzard. I love my kids and spending time with them…until we are stuck inside for so long.

Also, my menses was giving me a hard time. Sometimes it’s not so bad, other times, I could lay in bed all day. So…I ate crap today and didn’t do much of anything.

Also, my sweetheart is in Florida until late Saturday, left yesterday. So I’m a one woman show until he’s back.

Thursday, March 6th, 2025

Exercise I did not exercise.

Nutrition I did not track.

Again, I don’t have a good excuse. Once I fall off track, it’s hard to jump back on track.

I did go to Wal-Mart and Dollar Tree to get some seeds and pots. We plan to have a garden this year. We had one a few years ago but it did not turn out well. We had planted it close to the house which we thought would be a good idea so we could water it easier. Where we planted it was very rocky. We live on five acres in the country. There use to be a few outbuildings but the previous owners had torn them down and buried them where they sat. It’s difficult to know exactly where these building were all buried. So we have a new spot picked where it used to be field. We hope this works out this year. I’ll post updates.

Friday, March 7th, 2025 – Happy Birthday to my oldest child!

Lunch: chicken salad on croissant from Wal-Mart (not pictured)

Supper: Half of a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, jalapeno poppers, ranch, three cranberry Carbliss

I made homemade peanut butter before bed last night. I’m loving making simple healthy foods.

I picked up my sweetheart from the airport tonight and we went to our local bar. That would be the not so healthy food and drinks.

Exercise I did not do formal exercise, but I did practice softball throw/catch with both of my girl who are very active so I feel that counts for something.

If this was a test…I definitely failed this week!

Did I reach my goals this week? If not, why?

No, I sure did not! A few reasons: it was menstrual week which can be burial to me, there was a blizzard, and my sweetheart was gone Tuesday through Saturday out of state. The long winter and cold extreme weather really brings my mood down sometimes and it was hard to get out of the funk this time. My sweetheart being out of state isn’t the end of the world but with the other two things, it didn’t help.

Why do I feel this way about my progress?

Because I did not help myself.

What were my 3 biggest wins?

Not pertaining to my goals: I made (almost) homemade apple pie, I made homemade peanut butter, and we got our indoor seeds planted.

What made me happy?

Trying new things; making foods.

What lessons did I learn or what insights did I gain?

I need to create a routine for exercising. Ideally, I should be exercising in the morning every morning. Everything else falls into place when I exercise in the morning. It’s basically just me being lazy or unmotivated in the mornings. I know a person shouldn’t rely on motivation as we’re not always motivated people. I need to figure this part out.

How can I improve next week?

Do my exercise in the morning! I have my alarm set for 5:30am every morning. I should put my phone on the opposite side of the room so I have to get out of bed to get it. But do I want to do that…because I like my snooze button. That’s also a bad habit I should quit.
